I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned on here before about my best friend Alisha. She is the one responsible for my love of cooking and I have her to thank for me knowing how to cook in the first place. When I first met her, I could throw some meat on a George Forman grill and called that a meal. She helped me learn techniques, flavors, and opened my world to a bunch of new flavors. After living with her 3 years, on and off, I learned quite a bit from her.
The other day, her and I decided to get together to explore Hobby Lobby and spend an evening catching up. Despite the fact we have had some rough spots here and there, we always found our way back to each other. After our most resent rough patch, we needed this time together to reaffirm why we truly are best friend.
We went to Hobby Lobby with no real intentions other then to see what they had to offer. It had been awhile since either of us had been, so we thought it was time. They had a giant sale on Christmas stuff, but nothing that really caught our eye. That trip did remind me of how much i loved beading and scrapbooking and also made me think of making my own Christmas cards for people. Is it too late at this point?
After Hobby Lobby, we came back to my place for girly talking and cooking. We decided we were in the mood for comfort foods and came up with the following :
Meatball Subs, Mac and Cheez, and a side of kale.
Truly delicious! We had every intention of making desert as well but by the time we got done with Hobby Lobby and hit Wegman’s, there was no time. We didn’t even sit down to eat until 8:30.
I figure we can spend the next hang out session making gingerbread houses and lots of sugar-laden awesomeness!
