Adult Orphan

Someone commented on my previous post and used the term “adult orphan”.

That is a completely accurate term for the turn my life has taken.

At birth, I was adopted by two wonderful parents who loved me unconditionally. They raised me to be the compassionate, funny, caring adult that I am today.

34 years later, they are both gone.

It’s wild to think that an entire life can be burned and contained in a urn. An entire lifetime of living. Such a small container, but it holds the love of a lifetime.

I miss my Mom and Dad. It isn’t fair that I have neither.

But hey, I made a rockin broccoli and rice casserole and strawberries with biscuits.
